Back-to-school season is here! 🎒📚 As families gear up for a new school year, it’s the perfect time to reconnect with your VIPs, database, and local community in a fun and creative way.

Just like we did with the Easter Bunny Coloring Contest 🐰, we’re bringing you another simple, high-impact idea: a Back-to-School Coloring Contest! This is a fantastic opportunity to spread joy, build relationships, and make your brand stand out—especially with local families.

This time, it’s all about coloring a school bag! 🎒

How to Host Your Own Back-to-School Coloring Contest
Step 1: Choose a Fun, School-Themed Coloring Page
We’ve included a sample “school bag” coloring sheet (see below) to get you started. Feel free to add your own logo, contest details, or personal branding! Keep it simple and fun so kids of all ages can join in.

Step 2: Offer Exciting Prizes
Make it exciting for families with easy-to-give (and local!) prizes:

🏆 Grand Prize: $50 gift card to a school supply store or fun kids’ bookstore
🥈 2nd Place: $25 gift card to a local ice cream shop 🍦

Tagging isn’t just about labeling people as buyers or sellers. It’s about organizing your database so you can build better relationships, market more effectively, and leverage SmartPlans with precision.


 What Makes a Great Tag?

  • Think Beyond the Basics: Use tags to capture personal details—interests, careers, life stages, or client behavior.
    • Examples: “Investor” • “Dog Owner” • “VIP” • “Holiday Card” • “AZ Sports Fan”
  • Shorter Is Better: Instead of long phrases like “Loan Buyer from New York,” break it into:
    • ✅ “Buyer” • “Loan” • “Out of State”
  • Custom Tags = Custom Service: Make your clients feel known. Tags can help you match people for referrals, events, or personalized touches.

 Why It Matters:

  • Filter SmartPlans & Marketing:
    Send messages that matter. Don’t blast your database—target it with value.
  • Organize with Purpose:
    Group contacts into categories like “Vendors,” “Referral Partners,” “Open House Attendees,” or “Luxury Buyers.”
  • Keep It Clean:
    Too many tags? It gets messy fast. Review your tags quarterly. Be consistent with naming—avoid duplicates like “VIP” and “V.I.P.”

 Weekly Challenge:
Pick 25 people in your Command database and ask:

  • Do they have the right tags?
  • Can I segment them better?
  • What do I know about them that I haven’t captured yet?
