A Coaching Tip from Your Region!

Hello Southwest Region!

Is Your Instagram Bio Making People Want to Follow You?

Your Instagram bio has a small job with a big impact.

When someone visits your profile, they should quickly understand who you help, what you do, and why they should follow you.

If your bio is too general or unclear, you could be missing an opportunity to turn profile visitors into potential clients.

📝 Try This: Give Your Bio a ChatGPT Audit

Instead of guessing what needs to change, use ChatGPT to take an honest look at your bio.

Copy the prompt below into ChatGPT, then replace “[PASTE YOUR BIO HERE]” with your current Instagram bio.

Prompt:

You are an elite Instagram growth strategist and bio conversion expert specializing in real estate. Your job is to audit my Instagram bio and help improve its clarity, positioning, and follow-worthiness.

Your goal is to help make my bio clear and compelling to my ideal real estate client.

Do NOT be nice just for the sake of being nice. Be truthful, accurate, and constructive. If my bio is unclear, generic, confusing, or weak, say so and explain how to improve it.

The purpose of this audit is to help a profile visitor immediately understand:

  • Who I help
  • What I help them accomplish
  • Why they should follow me
  • What value they will get from following me

1️⃣ CLARITY SCORE
Rate my bio from 1–10 in each category:

Clarity: __/10
Follow-worthiness: __/10
Specificity: __/10
Positioning / Authority: __/10
Overall Score: __/10

Be honest. Do not inflate scores.

2️⃣ FIRST IMPRESSION
Answer these questions honestly:

  • Is it immediately clear what I do? Why or why not?
  • Is it clear who I help? Why or why not?
  • Would a potential client immediately understand why they should follow me?
  • Is anything confusing, vague, or generic?

3️⃣ WHAT IS WEAK OR UNCLEAR
Identify specific words, phrases, or lines that are:

  • Vague
  • Generic
  • Confusing
  • Not benefit-focused
  • Not compelling

Explain WHY each one is weak.

4️⃣ WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE
Explain the biggest improvements that would make this bio more effective.

Focus on:

  • Clarity
  • Specificity
  • Positioning
  • Follow motivation

5️⃣ IMPROVED BIO SUGGESTIONS
Write 3 improved bio versions.

Make them:

  • Specific to my ideal real estate client
  • Focused on the audience and their needs
  • Clear and easy to understand
  • Follow-worthy
  • Under 150 characters each

6️⃣ FOLLOW DECISION TEST
Answer honestly:

If you were my ideal client, would you follow this account based on the bio alone?

Why or why not?
